Rebecca Horn

Rebecca Horn is certainly one of Germany's most versatile and important artists since her participation in documenta in the early seventies of the 20th century. The versatility of Rebecca Horn is also visible in this touring exhibition of ifa. All the important media used by Rebecca Horn are shown here: Films, photo overpaintings, photographs, mechanical sculptures, installations and also the poems that accompany her work. The artist has repeatedly rearranged the exhibits for the exhibition tour herself at all the exhibition stations, so that no two exhibitions are the same and new spaces and perspectives are created each time.

About the exhibiton

With her mechanical sculptures, Rebecca Horn creates spaces that, upon entering, put us in a state of isolation, of floating, of a moment in which space and time collapse. Thought processes are set in motion and allow us to perceive our own experiences and reflections. Rebecca Horn observes our world and holds a mirror up to us in a poetic way by transporting us into a seemingly artificial world. We encounter the difference between the inner and outer world again and again in her work. This is also the case in Time Goes By, the central work from the ifa art collection.
